At Miramar Physiotherapy you can feel assured about the ability of your physiotherapist as we all have extensive postgraduate training and experience.
We are committed to ongoing education and regularly undertake training to keep up-to-date with the latest treatment options.

Paul Kuggeleijn

Physiotherapist
Paul graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Otago University in 1993. Prior to this he completed a 4 year degree in Physical Education. He started working in private practice in 1994 & also began the 3-year post-graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy (DipMT). Paul graduated from this course in1996, also concurrently passing the year-long PAANZ Acupuncture course. Paul has acted as the physiotherapist for numerous local, national & international sports teams.

Julie Norris

Physiotherapist
Julie graduated from Otago in 1988 as the top academic student. Over the past 30 years she has gained wide ranging experience working in several diverse clinical environments throughout NZ as well as in the UK. During her 3 year stay in England, she completed the Diploma in Cyriax Medicine. Back in NZ, she successfully passed the 3 year DipMT in 1996; then as acted as a clinical supervisor as well as an assistant tutor for the course. She worked at Khandallah Physiotherapy for almost 5 years before buying Miramar Physiotherapy with her husband Paul. Her special area of interest is posture-related/muscle imbalance problems.

Nathan Scott

Physiotherapist
Nathan completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours at the University of Otago. He moved from Queenstown to Wellington working in a Sports physio clinic before joining our team. Nathan recognises the multidimensional nature of pain thus taking a multifactorial approach to address each individuals needs. He enjoys the complexity of working as a physiotherapist and the privilege of working collaboratively with clients to manage pain and injuries. Nathan is also fluent in Japanese.

Rhys Mischewski

Physiotherapist
Rhys completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago. He is originally from Tauranga before making the move from Dunedin to Wellington. Rhys is a dynamic and compassionate graduate physiotherapist ready to make a difference in the lives of patients. Armed with fresh knowledge and a passion for helping others, Rhys brings a holistic approach to rehabilitation, focusing on personalized care tailored to each patients’ unique circumstances.

Sabine Nowotny

Receptionist
Sabine (pronounced Sabina) has worked at Miramar Physiotherapy since February 2020. She moved to NZ from Cologne in Germany with her husband 15 years ago and has now made Wellington her home. In Germany, Sabine trained and worked as a Pharmacy Technician. For the past 14 years she has been busy raising her two children and is now very excited to have her first job in New Zealand.

Leonie Harrison

Receptionist
Leonie is back in the workforce after a very short retirement! She has lived in Miramar her whole life - a true local. Leonie has spent the past 17 years working behind the front desk at Miramar North Primary School. She is always happy to help out in any way possible.

Deb Paget

Receptionist
Deb has lived in the Eastern suburbs for over 16 years but originated from Dunedin in the deep south. She also currently works in the school office for Holy Cross School in Miramar as well as working as a part-time nanny for a family in Wadestown. She has four children which keeps her busy in between everything else! She loves living in Wellington (yes - even when it blows) as thinks it has a great vibe and heart to it. She looks forward to seeing you at reception!

Debbie Short

Receptionist
Debbie has lived and worked in the Eastern suburbs for over 30 years. In 2021 Debbie left her role as the Trading Manager for Scots College and after a few months of enjoying some time off she has joined the reception team at Miramar Physio. Her two sons are now grown up and her husband works part time therefore this role fits perfectly into her current lifestyle. She has experience in office administration and customer service. Debbie will no doubt enjoy getting to know our community.
