Specialty Programs / Classes.
"At Miramar Physiotherapy we are very aware that most injuries are an end result of long-standing postural faults and /or muscle imbalances .
It is important that these issues are addressed in order to avoid re-injury or recurrent pain.
So at Miramar Physiotherapy we have developed a range of classes and programmes to help you get you back on the right track!"
RunFix :
This programme has been designed for those people who
1. Run, but are always sustaining injuries or suffering from recurrent niggles
2. Run, but would like to run faster and more efficiently, or
3. Don't run, but would like to start running for general
fitness and/or to lose weight.
There are now 2 options;
1. RunFix Classes:
A series of 6 fun one hour classes, once a week, where we introduce you to a running technique that will make running easier and more efficient.
We develop this technique through a progressive series of drills. Focus is also on improving your core stability, flexibility and, general fitness so come prepared for a good work-out! Limited to 6 participants per class.
OR
2. The Complete RunFix programme:
A one hour individual assessment including screening of any pre-existing injuries, a full muscle balance assessment and video analysis of your current running style (if you have one)!
6 RunFix classes as above, plus
a forty minute individual reassessment following the series of classes to see how much you have improved and/or to follow up on any pre-existing injuries.
Guaranteed to improve your running and lessen your chance of injury!

Bodyfix - On the ball :
Body Fix classes are a mixture of Pilates, cardio work and weight-training, mostly done on the Swiss ball. They are set to music and are lots of fun!
The aim of these classes is to greatly improve your posture and core stability while also increasing your general fitness. We especially target those Abdominal and Gluteal muscles (Tummy's and Bums!).
Classes are taken by an experienced Physiotherapist and there is a maximum of 6 participants per class, so you get plenty of individual instruction to ensure that you get the results you want. Better than having your own personal trainer but without the cost!
Exercises are adapted for any age, size, pre-existing injury or fitness level - so come along!
Only $20 per classes (Bookings are essential)
Current Session times:
Monday and Friday mornings: 9.30 - 10.30am
Monday and Thursday evenings: 5.30 - 6.30pm
NB: If you get a group of 4 or more friends together we can try and arrange a time to suit your group!
Bodyfix - 60's Plus :
If age is getting the better of you - Fight back and Exercise!
Research has shown that exercise helps build bone density, tones up muscles, increases energy levels and reduces stress. People who exercise live longer, happier and healthier lives. They also look younger and feel better.
YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO START!
So we have designed an exercise class specifically for the 60 plus age group.
These classes will help improve your posture, muscle strength and flexibility and increase your general fitness. They are also fun and are set to music that you will enjoy!
Only $20 per classes. (Bookings are essential)
